We carefully curated some of the most exciting and forward-thinking artists on the planet for GQ’s first-ever offering of digital art, the GQ3 Issue 001: Change Is Good collection.
Minters of the inaugural collection got a pass to unlock the GQ universe. Their tokens allowed them to claim benefits from GQ: a magazine subscription, the GQ Box, exclusive GQ3 merch, a ticket to the first-ever GQ3 party in NYC, and more. It ushered them into the GQ3 community as founders and holders with ongoing access to live events, a special section of the GQ Discord, and first-in-line status for future drops.
For this first drop, after carefully selecting four artists whose work we admire, we gave them a challenge: to explore the GQ motto Change Is Good through their work, using it as a theme to guide the creation of generative digital art.
Each artist created more than 100 unique traits that could be combined in infinite ways. Those traits were algorithmically brought together and turned into stand-alone artworks, with each artist carefully hand-curating a final collection. Each of the pieces is one-of-a-kind, and the drop included 1,166 in total, a nod to the 66th anniversary of GQ. Each piece was priced at 0.1957 ETH, in honor of the year GQ was founded.
